As a muralist, painter and art
educator, Brad Bernard has defined himself as an award-winning artist
in the mid-west as well as the mid-south. A native of Milwaukee, Bernard
recieved his Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree from the Milwaukee Institute
of Art and Design and is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts
Degree from the University of Mississippi, Oxford.
Since his enrollment in the fall of 2000, he has exhibited in a variety
of prestigious galleries and Museums across the state, such as, Southside,
Frame-Up, and Bryant Hall Galleries in Oxford, The Ida B. Wells gallery
in Holly Springs, and First Street Gallery in Grenada, where he won
Best of Show Award in July 2001. He was also selected as an exhibitor
at the Mississippi Collegiate Art Competition three consecutive years,
2001 at The Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, MS., and in 2002
at The Lauren Rodgers Museum in Laurel, MS. and 2003 in Meridian,
MS.
Bernard has also dedicated his talents to inspiring youth and adolescents
through teaching art classes at the CORE ARTS summer arts institute
held at Delta State University. He was commissioned by the Mississippi
Arts Commission as an on screen presenter for a Walter Anderson Arts
Education video sponsored by the Whole Schools Initiative. In a proclaimed
effort to fulfill his calling, Brad Bernard will continue exhibiting
and educating wherever opportunity and education may lead.
